Sourcing

Every eligibility rule, fee and deadline on this site must be traceable to an official source: a law, an official gazette, or a government, embassy or consulate page. Those sources are linked at the end of each page. When only news or professional commentary exists, for example right after a court ruling, the source label says so. We replace it with the official text once that is published.

Review dates

Each guide shows a "last reviewed" date. We re-check country pages when a law changes, and at least every six months otherwise.

Corrections

If we get something wrong, we fix it, update the review date, and record significant changes on the law changes tracker. Send corrections tohello@ancestrypassport.com.

Advertising and independence

This site may show ads and may link to services such as genealogy research, document retrieval or legal help. These relationships never change what we say about eligibility. We clearly mark any sponsored or affiliate link.

Use of AI tools

We may use AI tools to help draft and edit text. A person checks every factual claim against the cited official source before publication.
